bandWe’re a girls quartette conversant in reading Gothic and Renaissance music. In our versions you can hear romantic songs of Sephard’s Jews, Spanish Cantigas de Santa Maria, Llibre Vermell, German Carmina Burana and much more music from medieval Europe. Our music is based mainly on the harmony of four different girl’s voices, and is accompanied by replicas of medieval instruments. Among them for example behold the cister, lute or psalter, which lend us it’s Latin name – psalterium.Other examples include the fiddle (medieval violin), wind instruments such as the medieval shawns, flutes, recorders, chalimeaux (predecessor of clarinet) and different forms, sizes and sounds of percussion. Our repertoire also highlights instrumental music – medieval folklore European dances and melodies.
